Manager, Donation Development

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Manager, Donation Development in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description:Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Manager, Donation Development (MDD) is responsible for the daily operations, direction, development, and evaluation of the donation development team. The manager will motivate and foster collaborative efforts with the DD team to meet OneLegacy’s goals. The Manager, Donation Development will provide support to the donation development training program, both in the field and in the classroom, when necessary. The MDD is responsible for overseeing donation development initiatives to include special projects, staff training and information systems for tracking and reporting; as well as, quality improvement, policies and procedures creation and revisions, and OneLegacy’s donation development activities. The MDD supports the COO to identify, develop, and implement effective teaching tools and other resources for the donation development team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or related field or at least (4) years previous experience in the same or similar position with an organ procurement organization is required. Previous supervisory experience preferred; Minimum of two years’ experience in donation and/or hospital development, with a record of superior performance; Demonstrated leadership ability and success in program development necessary; Must possess superior interpersonal and written communication skills. Supervisor, Organ Procurement

Position Description: The Organ Procurement Supervisor will be responsible for the administrative oversight of the Organ Procurement Transplant Coordinators and Referral Process Coordinators as well as the referral and donation process. This position requires an advanced level of expertise and overall understanding of the organ and tissue donation and transplantation process. Responsibilities include: effective referral management and monitoring the management of all potential donors. Qualifications: Graduate of Nursing/Respiratory Therapy program required or 3 years of similar OPO experience; Four year degree preferred; Minimum of 3 years critical care experience, or at least one year of management or supervisory experienced preferred; Certification of Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) required within 6 months. Procurement Transplant Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Procurement Transplant Coordinator in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description: The Procurement Transplant Coordinator (PTC) is responsible for all aspects of organ procurement from the initial hospital referral through the organ recovery procedure. The clinical element of the position is to provide medical donor patient care, with an emphasis on assessment, resuscitation, physiologic management, organ placement and organ recovery of all suitable organs. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the assessed needs of the donor and the psychosocial needs of the family in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements, policies and goals of OneLegacy. The PTC will also have shared responsibility for hospital development in his/her assigned hospitals and for conducting professional and public education presentations on the subject of organ and tissue donation. PTCs are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties. Qualifications: Registered Nursing Program, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates who are not licensed RN’s will be considered for the position of PTC at the discretion of the COO and Manager of Procurement. Critical Care Patient Management (ICU, OR, ER) experience mandatory. BCLS certification required at the time of employment. Required to be ACLS certified within 12-months and CPTC certified within 24-months of employment. Systems Administrator

Position Description: The Systems Administrator (SA) will participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users, application owners and department managers. The System Administrator is also responsible for the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of various technologies managed by the Information Services (IS) department; focusing on the administration of network infrastructure including servers, desktop PC’s, mobile devices, network equipment, and software applications. The Systems Administrator will assess and identify appropriate solutions to be integrated into the organization’s operations and make recommendations for implementation. The Systems Administrator is also responsible for the security of the network and monitoring of the devices connected to the networks. Assists the Information Services department with hardware and software support as needed. Qualifications: Four year degree or Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS) certification. Three (3) years server hardware/software with special emphasis on Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2. Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Services experience are a plus, as are any industry certifications. Three (3) years’ experience supporting Network and Windows Servers Infrastructure including Microsoft Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 Active Directory, Microsoft SQL 2005 Servers, Dell/EMC SAN, Enterprise Backup, TandBerg Video Conferencing and Perimeter Network Security. Four (4) plus years’ experience in a system administrator support capacity. Expert technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows platform operating systems including experience in enterprise-level design and implementation; Two (2) plus years’ experience with Cirix XenServer, XenDesktop and XenApp; Installation, configuration and deployment; Server consolidation and migration to a virtual environment. Server upgrades especially to Exchange 2010 and Active Directory 2008 R2; Hands-on troubleshooting experience with complex systems architectures; Experience with data management; Advanced knowledge of server hardware components. Position Description: The Aftercare Specialist is responsible for providing grief support to OneLegacy’s donor families. Responsibilities include, staffing programs, which address the emotional needs of organ/tissue donor families, providing written materials for donor families, referrals (as needed) and phone support for donor families. In addition the aftercare specialist facilitates written communication and meetings between Donor Families and Recipients as deemed appropriate. This position also assists with the maintenance of the aftercare mail program for donor families. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or related field preferred. Two years’ experience providing grief support to the public with special consideration given to providing services to people in crisis situations, both personally and in group settings preferred. The program educates medical professionals, dialysis patients, and potential living kidney donors about transplant and living donation. Explore Transplant also works to improve access to transplant education in underserved communities. To date, the Explore Transplant program has educated over 3,000 dialysis providers to educate their own patients about transplant nationwide.Position Description: The The Explore Transplant Program Director (ETPD) manages day-to-day operations of a $1 million transplant education program including, but not limited to, ensuring the fulfillment of transplant center dialysis provider educational trainings (15-25 per year nationwide); cultivating new transplant and healthcare organization partners and customers; marketing the program at national conferences; fundraising and grant writing; and managing a coordinator who is responsible for planning and executing individual trainings and a team of dialysis and transplant trainers to lead the programs. In addition, the ETPD assesses the need for and develops new educational resources, delivery channels (e.g. eLearning), and training opportunities. The ETPD facilitates the successful administration, financial management, and ongoing growth of the program consistent with the strategic goals of the program and OneLegacy Foundation. Position Description: This position requires travel throughout the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area with minimal overnights. The Family Care Specialist is a key member of the operation team and represents OneLegacy to the families of potential donors, clinical and hospital staff and to the communities OneLegacy serves. Responsibilities of the Family Care Specialist include: Service as a subject matter expert to potential donor families on the process of organ donation and recovery; Providing support to grieving families, while advocating for the potential donor; Securing authorization for organ donation and completing patient history; Referring donor families to appropriate internal and external resources, and; collaborating with OneLegacy and hospital staff to obtain an optimal outcome for donor families.Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have medical/clinical background and experience in a customer service position, preferably in a healthcare setting. The Central Supply Operations Technician will also be responsible for the upkeep of the supply areas. Position Description: The Supervisor, Materials Management (SMM),(central supply, central services, sterile processing) responsibilities include overseeing the ordering of all organ, tissue and eye (medical supplies) supplies, operations deliveries, shelving and rotating stock, keeping track of inventory levels for tissue, eye and organ needs, cleaning and sterilization (autoclave) of (surgical) instrument kits ensures upkeep of the supply areas, and oversees Quality Control. Other additional responsibilities will include the oversight and coordination of OneLegacy’s operations pool of vehicles; and facility oversight and maintenance of Central Supply and OneLegacy satellite offices. This position also oversees all staff involved in central processing; ensures that central supply operations and Policy and Procedures relating to the functions described below are compliant with all regulatory requirements. Eye Bank Manager

Position Description: The Eye Bank Manager (EBM) must have an existing understanding of eye banking and is required to acquire and maintain Certified Eye Bank Technician (CEBT) status. The EBM will supervise all department staff and the Eye Bank operations including but not limited to: ocular tissue evaluation, ocular tissue processing and distribution, performance improvement, quality control and goal attainment. The EBM will develop and execute operational plans for making OneLegacy donor corneas available to local corneal surgeons. The EBPM performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, FDA regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) standards and other applicable federal, state, and local laws.  Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Position Description: The Eye Bank Coordinator (EBC) oversees ocular evaluation, preservation processing distribution and delivery logistics. EBC maintains relations with ocular tissue users and develops new surgical and research contacts. The EBC is responsible for maintaining all EBAA and FDA required documentation of processing and distribution activities. Medical Records Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Medical Records Coordinator in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Donor Information (SDI), the Medical Records Coordinator (MRC) will provide support to the donation development department by entering, filing and retrieval of any donor related data from hospital records; and handling of all communication with regard to donor records for internal and external entities. The MRC will be responsible for the collecting and processing of the Hospital Death Lists; will review data for the OneLegacy donor information reports and communicate with the donation development and donor information teams, on an ongoing basis and providing timely reporting to meet OneLegacy’s goals. The MRC will also support the Donor Information department and be responsible for the review of incoming donor charts for hospital records completeness and contacting the hospital to obtain outstanding records. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree required. Preferred coursework to include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods, and computer science. A minimum of 2 years of previous medical records experience and/or medical or health science background preferred. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Donation Development Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Donation Development Coordinator in our Bakersfield Office. Position Description: The Donation Development Coordinator (DDC) is responsible to represent OneLegacy in assigned hospitals and partners with all hospitals within the designated service area (DSA) to maximize the potential for organ and tissue donation. The DDC maintains the hospital's outcome data and communicates all data and missed donation opportunities for quality improvement to the appropriate hospital team member(s). The DDC partners with key administration and hospital team members to develop policies and procedures, implements strategies to increase referrals and improve performance outcomes in organ and tissue donation in assigned hospital(s). Qualifications: Our ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree or at least two (2) years previous experience in the same or similar position with an organ procurement organization is preferred. Must have experience in presenting information to upper management, physicians/nurses, public groups, boards of directors, and committees. Experience in assessing challenging organizational and personal impediments to change and development of strategies to overcome these. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data, solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; and creative and critical thinking skills, designing concepts and organizing effectively to motivate others. Referral and Allocation Compliance Specialist

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Referral and Allocation Compliance Specialist in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description: The Referral and Allocation Compliance Specialist (RACS), in coordination with the Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and overseeing the OPO’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local laws, as well as professional association and industry standards. The primary responsibilities of the RACS are to promote compliance and quality improvement; perform internal and external quality audits and as the QS Department liaison works closely, with Care Center management (including allocation). Family Care management, Donation Sciences Research and Education Department and Administrative Departments. The RACS performs Quality Control reviews of electronic (computer) and paper donor records to ensure completeness and accuracy according to policies & procedures (P&Ps). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Three years’ experience in a donation organization. Minimum one-year Quality Systems experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish, preferred. A current California driver’s license, auto insurance based on California minimal insurance coverage standards and reliable automotive transportation is required. Referral Process Coordinator

Position Description: The Referral Process Coordinator (RPC) is responsible for representing OneLegacy to the donor hospital staff. The RPC provides information on the donation process and gathers information for screening of the potential donor. The RPC acts as a liaison between hospital staff and OneLegacy. Qualifications: EMT, LVN, Paramedic (or similar). Previous OPO experience accepted. Work experience in the medical field/ medical terminology. OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance based on California minimum insurance coverage standards. Donor Allocation Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Donor Allocation Coordinator in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description: The Donor Allocation Coordinator (DAC) is primarily responsible for the allocation of Organs and Tissues, the coordination of recovery arrangements, and the recovery of Organs and Tissues for transplant and/or research. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy Policies and Procedures, regulations as outlined by applicable governing bodies and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. The DAC will assist in the training of staff; perform all recovery related functions for Organ and Tissues such as coordination of Organ and Tissue recoveries; and review all relevant donor records to determine donor suitability for recovery. The DAC will act as the primary liaison with our transplant centers, tissue processors, research facilitates, hospital personnel, and recovery site personnel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college/university, Associates degree from a 2 yr. program (AS), completion of Surgical Technologist Certification (ST), EMT program, LVN, RN or 3 years equivalent experience required. 3 years Industry Experience is preferred.CEBT and CTBS certification, preferred. Surgical Recovery Technician

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Per Diem Surgical Recovery Technician in our Redlands, Orange County and Los Angeles Offices. Position Description: The Surgical Recovery Technician (SRT) is responsible for the surgical recovery of donated cadaveric tissues that are used in transplantation. The recovery responsibilities include the aseptic surgical recovery of: Ocular, Musculoskeletal, Dermal, Vascular, and Cardiac Tissue. Additional responsibilities include screening at the County Corner offices, referral triage, and the coordination of organ operating room (OR) recoveries. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have one of the following: completion of an EMT, ER Technologist, or Surgical Technologist program, previous experience in tissue or organ recoveries, experience in an allied health field such as embalming, physiology, anatomy, mortuary sciences, surgical, EMS, paramedic or possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Individuals with a CEBT or CTBS Certifications are preferred. Employee must be able to pass a local government agency (coroner’s offices) background check. Family Care Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Family Care Coordinator in our Los Angeles office. Position Description: The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is primarily responsible for obtaining donor consents from the legal next-of-kin (LNOK) in a timely and consistent manner; providing the LNOK with honest and unbiased tissue donation options; and completing the medical/social history questionnaire with the appropriate person to assist in determination of donor eligibility. The FCC is also responsible for gathering clinical information from the referral facility and additional healthcare providers as needed; and coordinating the recovery process with tissue processing agencies, recovery staff, and recovery facilities. The FCC will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent with certification from allied healthcare, technical or vocational program. Completion of one of the requirements: • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in physical or social sciences field. • Completion of an LVN, RN, Surgical Technologist, EMT, or CNA program. • Prior experience working more than six months in a telemarketing, help desk/troubleshooting, phone counseling or customer services call center environment preferred.
