Aftercare Specialist

Position Description: The Aftercare Specialist is responsible for providing grief support to OneLegacy’s donor families. Responsibilities include: staffing programs, which address the emotional needs of organ/tissue donor families, providing written materials for donor families, referrals (as needed) and phone support for donor families. In addition the Aftercare Specialist facilitates written communication and meetings between donor families and recipients as deemed appropriate, and covers events involving donor families, as assigned. This position also assists with the maintenance of the Donor Family Aftercare (DFAC) mailing program. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or related field required; Master degree preferred. Two-year’ experience providing grief support to the public with special consideration given to providing services to people in crisis situations, both personally and in group settings preferred. Hospital experience preferred. Fluency in Spanish preferred. Eye Bank Technical Supervisor

Position Description: The Eye Bank Supervisor (EBS) is responsible for the oversight of the Eye Bank daily operations. The EBS must have an understanding of eye banking and is required to acquire and/or maintain CEBT status. The EBS will supervise the Eye Bank operations staff and monitor ocular tissue processing, placement and distribution performance of the program. The EBS performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures (P&Ps), regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Vice President, Organ Operations

Position Description: The Vice President, Organ Operations (VPOO) must be dedicated to supporting the mission of OneLegacy to provide the opportunity to improve and extend lives through organ, eye and tissue donation for transplantation. Working with OneLegacy’s Leadership team, the Vice President will champion OneLegacy’s philosophy; be committed to being knowledgeable about best practices. This position plans and directs the activities of organ operations to maximize organ donation and transplantation throughout OneLegacy’s donor service area (DSA). This includes ensuring high quality service is provided within the OneLegacy at all times so that clinical services and organ procurement is maximized and serves as clinical resource for organ donation and transplantation issues. The Vice President is also responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies for all Organ Operations departments. As a member of the OneLegacy leadership team and the Organ Operations team, the Vice President will actively foster an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, support, constructive feedback and accountability. The Vice President, Organ Operations will develop and implement OneLegacy's operational structure and strategy to include internal control systems; management systems, quality assurance and quality control for customer service and delivery. This executive level position is a member of and accountable to the executive management team for measuring operational performance, providing analysis and driving change as needed. The Vice President represents the company and Organ Operations to external organizations, including, but not limited to, government agencies, trade associations, and providers and vendors, in a manner that maintains the integrity and enhances the reputation of OneLegacy. The minimum requirements for this position include but not limited to the following: prior management experience with at least three (3) years in a health related field; must have proven leadership, communication and management skills, also a proven ability to coach and mentor. Must be a Certification as a Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC). Must have twelve (12) months experience as an organ procurement coordinator and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a recipient or procurement coordinator preferred. Previous OPO experience and five (5) years previous experience in providing care to the bereaved preferred. Demonstrated leadership in managing a diverse group of professionals, evidence of a flexible team player; with knowledge or understanding of commitment to medical health issues and implementing social change efforts are required. Knowledge of MS Office Suite software programs. Must be currently licensed as a RN in the state of California. Aftercare Clinical Specialist

Position Description: Aftercare Clinical Specialist (ACCS) is responsible for the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the clinical (psychological and bereavement) aspects of OneLegacy’s Donor Family Aftercare Program. The DFAC Program is focused on providing emotional support, practical information, resources, events, and guidance for families who have experienced a death and have made the decision to donate organs, eyes, and/or tissues. Responsibilities include developing and implementing programs which address the clinical and emotional needs of organ/tissue donor families, creating clinical written material, and facilitating individual, family, and group support of donor family members; creating, coordinating, and providing clinical education, clinical supervision and training to staff and hospital partners; providing clinical supervision of non-licensed staff and Family Care Ambassadors, and assisting with the implementation of OneLegacy’s Donor Family Aftercare grief program. Qualifications:Fluency in Spanish preferred. LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed in Psychology for a minimum of 2 years (and eligible to supervise trainees, interns, ASWs or MSWs) in the state of California required. MSW or MA in related counseling field required. Two-year experience providing services to the public with special consideration given to providing services to people in crisis situations both individually, family and group settings required. One-year experience in Organ and Tissue donation and aftercare field preferred. Four years of experience counseling clients dealing with issues of grief and loss preferred. Medical Records Coordinator

Position Description: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Donor Information (SDI), the Medical Records Coordinator (MRC) will provide support to the donation development department by entering, filing and retrieval of any donor related data from hospital records; and handling of all communication with regard to donor records for internal and external entities. The MRC will be responsible for the collecting and processing of the Hospital Death Lists; will review data for the OneLegacy donor information reports and communicate with the donation development and donor information teams, on an ongoing basis and providing timely reporting to meet OneLegacy’s goals. The MRC will also support the Donor Information department and be responsible for the review of incoming donor charts for hospital records completeness and contacting the hospital to obtain outstanding records. Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred coursework to include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods, and computer science; A minimum of 2 years of previous medical records experience and/or medical or health science background preferred; Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Position Description:: The Supervisor of Recovery Operations (SRO) is responsible for the oversight and regulatory compliance of the assigned Recovery office location (Los Angeles) with specific responsibilities that include: daily supervision of tissue recovery personnel; ensuring all coroner and mortuary facilities in the OneLegacy service area are provided adequate customer service; performs organ and tissue recoveries; and has Tissue Operations liaison relationship responsibilities with the agency conducting donor screening and coordination services and coroners’ offices. The SRO performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures and regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations and other applicable federal, state and local laws. Hires staff, performs personnel disciplinary action, and performs involuntary separations per HR policies. Performs on-call responsibilities. Qualifications: College degree with an emphasis in Health Sciences and/or other related background preferred. Procurement Transplant Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Procurement Transplant Coordinator in our Los Angeles office. Position Description: The Procurement Transplant Coordinator (PTC) is responsible for all aspects of organ procurement from the initial hospital referral through the organ recovery procedure. The clinical element of the position is to provide medical donor patient care, with an emphasis on assessment, resuscitation, physiologic management, organ placement and organ recovery of all suitable organs. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the assessed needs of the donor and the psychosocial needs of the family in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements, policies and goals of OneLegacy. The PTC will also have shared responsibility for hospital development in his/her assigned hospitals and for conducting professional and public education presentations on the subject of organ and tissue donation. PTCs are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties.Qualifications:Registered Nursing Program, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates who are not licensed RN’s will be considered for the position of PTC at the discretion of the COO and Manager of Procurement. Critical Care Patient Management (ICU, OR, ER) experience mandatory. BCLS certification required at the time of employment. Required to be ACLS certified within 12-months and CPTC certified within 24-months of employment. Position Description: The Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC) is responsible for the surgical recovery of donated Organs and Tissues used for transplantation and research, screening of potential tissue donors at the Coroner offices and coordinating the Operating Room (OR) recovery process for Organ and Tissue donors. Performs screening at the Coroner offices to identify potential donors; Performs aseptic surgical recovery of tissues such as: Ocular, Musculoskeletal, Skin, Vascular, Cardiac, Bone Marrow, and other tissues as requested; Performs medical chart review and qualify a donor for recovery; Performs Organ Recovery Coordination; Assists in the aseptic surgical recovery of organs; Performs aseptic surgical recovery of organs for research; Performs Kidney Pumping/pulsatile perfusion; Performs Organ Recovery OR support; Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, the standards and regulations as outlined by the FDA, UNOS, CMS, and other applicable federal, state and local laws. Qualifications:Highly qualified candidates must have one of the following: Possess a Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of an EMT program, completion of a ER Technologist or Surgical Technologist program, current or previous licensure as a paramedic, previous experience in the Tissue or Organ recovery industry or experience in the allied health field. Eye Bank Coordinator

Position Description: The Eye Bank Coordinator (EBC) oversees ocular evaluation, preservation processing distribution and delivery logistics. EBC maintains relations with ocular tissue users and develops new surgical and research contacts. The EBC is responsible for maintaining all EBAA and FDA required documentation of processing and distribution activities. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures; regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations; and other applicable Federal, state, and local laws. The EBC provides 24 –hour scheduled availability responsibilities with other Eye bank staff. Qualifications: Required to have one of the following: Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four year college or university, LVN or Surgical Technologist Certificate. A minimum of two years’ experience in an allied health or mortuary science is preferred. CEBT certifications to be obtained within 24 months of hire. Donor Information Coordinator

Position Description: The Donor Information Coordinator (DIC) is primarily responsible for the completion of the organ and tissue donor case files in a timely manner and in accordance with OneLegacy policies and procedures and regulatory requirements by performing the initial complete review, obtaining corrections from OneLegacy Recovery staff, obtaining required documentation from agencies such as hospitals, ME/Coroner’s offices, processors, laboratories, or other relevant government entities, and confirming that the donor case file is correct, accurate, and complete. The DIC will collaborate with other departments to communicate culture results to transplant centers. The DIC will enter case information into databases as assigned, which may include Organ Procurement Transplantation Network (OPTN). The DIC is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of donor information in donor databases. The DIC will work with the Supervisor of Donor Information to meet pre-determined chart completion goals. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. em>Qualifications: : Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of Surgical Technologist, EMT program, or LVN program with state certification required. A minimum of two years recovery experience in organ or tissue banking is preferred. CTBS certification required to be obtained within 2 years of employment. Position Description: This position requires travel throughout the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area with minimal overnights. The Family Care Specialist is a key member of the operation team and represents OneLegacy to the families of potential donors, clinical and hospital staff and to the communities OneLegacy serves. Responsibilities of the Family Care Specialist include: Service as a subject matter expert to potential donor families on the process of organ donation and recovery; Providing support to grieving families, while advocating for the potential donor; Securing authorization for organ donation and completing patient history; Referring donor families to appropriate internal and external resources, and; collaborating with OneLegacy and hospital staff to obtain an optimal outcome for donor families. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have medical/clinical background and experience in a customer service position, preferably in a healthcare setting. Preference is for candidates with a bachelor’s degree, however, significant directly-related experience may be substituted. Excellent verbal and written skills are essential, as well as competency in Microsoft Office. Strong preference for bilingual Spanish-English candidates. Position Description:: The Director, Organ Clinical Operations (DOCO) will oversee the day to day operations and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate strategies in the areas if Organ procurement, Referral Process Coordination, and Organ Family Care. The DOCO will also oversee the budgetary and fiscal management of these departments. As a member of the OneLegacy leadership team and the Organ Operations team, DOCO will actively foster an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, support, constructive feedback and accountability. The position requires a highly organized and resourceful person with excellent written, verbal and presentation communications skills who demonstrates tact, maturity, and professionalism in all points of contact. The DOCO must possess the ability to solve problems independently, and work with others in a congenial and collaborative manner; and bring a demonstrated ability to work with executive management on organizational strategic planning and change initiatives. Qualifications: Four year college degree is required with preferred course work in behavioral sciences, social sciences or other health related fields. Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of four years of critical care experience and/or equivalency of nurse management is required. The minimum requirements for this position include but not limited to the following: prior management experience with at least three (3) years in a health related field; must have proven leadership, communication and management skills, also a proven ability to coach and mentor. Position Description: The Supervisor, Central Supply responsibilities include overseeing the ordering of all clinical (organ, tissue and eye), office and promotional supplies, receiving operations deliveries, shelving and rotating stock, keeping track of inventory levels for all supply needs, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instrument kits, and cleaning of all clinical supply areas at all OneLegacy locations. Other additional responsibilities include the oversight and coordination of OneLegacy’s operations pool of vehicles; and maintenance/facility oversight of OneLegacy satellite offices. This position provides daily supervision to all staff involved in central processing; ensuring that central supply operations and Policy and Procedures relating to the functions described below are compliant with all regulatory requirements.Qualifications:Completion of a two year college degree required. Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Healthcare facility / plant engineering and maintenance / Inventory Control / Materials management or related field required. The recovery responsibilities include the aseptic surgical recovery of: Ocular, Musculoskeletal, Dermal, Vascular, and Cardiac Tissue. Additional responsibilities include screening at the County Corner offices, referral triage, and the coordination of organ operating room (OR) recoveries. Family Care Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Family Care Coordinator in our Los Angeles office. Position Description: The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is primarily responsible for obtaining donor consents from the legal next-of-kin (LNOK) in a timely and consistent manner; providing the LNOK with honest and unbiased tissue donation options; and completing the medical/social history questionnaire with the appropriate person to assist in determination of donor eligibility. The FCC is also responsible for gathering clinical information from the referral facility and additional healthcare providers as needed; and coordinating the recovery process with tissue processing agencies, recovery staff, and recovery facilities. The FCC will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: High School Diploma required. Completion of one of the requirements listed below is required: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in physical or social sciences field; OR Completion of a certification in the medical field such as LVN, RN, Surgical Technologist, EMT, Medical Billing or CNA program. Prior experience working more than six months in a telemarketing, help desk/troubleshooting, phone counseling or customer services call center environment preferred. Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm preferred.
