Vice President, Tissue Operations

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Vice President Tissue Operations in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description: The Vice President of Tissue Operations (VP-TO) is responsible for providing executive leadership in the development and strategic and operational plans for Referral and Donor Allocation (Call Center), Surgical Recovery, Eye Bank Operations, and Materials Management to promote the organizational goals and the development and retention of staff. The VP-TO will also drive operations to achieve strategic goals, and the budgetary and fiscal management of the eye bank, recovery operations, materials management and donor allocations departments; the management of contracts with recovery partners, and the oversight of recovery facilities. This individual will be responsible for the oversight of approximately 125 staff and 9 leadership staff. As a member of OneLegacy’s Executive Leadership, the VP-TO will actively foster an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, performance improvement and accountability; as well as, work to motivate and work collaboratively between tissue and organ operations, and external tissue processors to meet OneLegacy’s overall organizational goals and objectives. This position will support the organization’s core values as outlined in the OneLegacy’s Policies and Procedures and mission, vision and values of the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree or 10 years’ equivalent executive leadership experience in the tissue banking industry required; or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 8 years supervisory experience required; overseeing a minimum of 100 full time staff required; must have a minimum of 10 years tissue banking experience. Demonstrated leadership ability and success in program development is necessary. Strong negotiation, organization, and presentation skills are required. Certification as a Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) through the American Association of Tissue Banks and certified by CEBT preferred. By approval of COO: EBAA and AATB certification required or within one year of hire date. Maintaining certifications while employed with OneLegacy. Eye Bank Coordinator

Position Description: The Eye Bank Coordinator (EBC) oversees ocular evaluation, preservation processing distribution and delivery logistics. EBC maintains relations with ocular tissue users and develops new surgical and research contacts. The EBC is responsible for maintaining all EBAA and FDA required documentation of processing and distribution activities. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures; regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations; and other applicable Federal, state, and local laws. The EBC provides 24 –hour scheduled availability responsibilities with other Eye bank staff. Manager, Transplant Services

Position Description: The primary focus of the Manager, Transplant Services for both Abdominal and Thoracic Organs is to work with the transplant surgeons and the transplant centers. The MTS position requires an advanced level of expertise and overall understanding of the organ and tissue donation and transplantation process. This role will create and implement effective donation strategies with designated transplant hospitals to maximize the number of organs recovered for transplantation. The MTS will be responsible in representing OneLegacy in assigned hospitals offering overall support, and education to enhance all transplant center relationships to optimize organs for recovery and transplantation. The MTS will work closely with the leadership team to ensure that seamless, comprehensive customer service is provided to the transplant centers. This role will actively foster an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, support, process improvement and constructive feedback; and provide input as needed into organizational policy development. em>Qualifications: : Must posses an undergraduate degree in health sciences, business or equivalent work experience. Previous administrative/management experience with at least two years minimum in a health-related field; previous experience in organ procurement; specifically thoracic and abdominal organs and/or transplantation, preferred. Must have thorough understanding of the nationwide system of organ procurement and distribution, and up-to-date knowledge of current trends, nursing practices and research related to cardiothoracic transplant. Medical Records Coordinator

Position Description: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Donor Information (SDI), the Medical Records Coordinator (MRC) will provide support to the donation development department by entering, filing and retrieval of any donor related data from hospital records; and handling of all communication with regard to donor records for internal and external entities. The MRC will be responsible for the collecting and processing of the Hospital Death Lists; will review data for the OneLegacy donor information reports and communicate with the donation development and donor information teams, on an ongoing basis and providing timely reporting to meet OneLegacy’s goals. The MRC will also support the Donor Information department and be responsible for the review of incoming donor charts for hospital records completeness and contacting the hospital to obtain outstanding records. em>Qualifications: : Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferred coursework to include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods, and computer science; A minimum of 2 years of previous medical records experience and/or medical or health science background preferred; Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Donor Information Coordinator

Position Description: The Donor Information Coordinator (DIC) is primarily responsible for the completion of the organ and tissue donor case files in a timely manner and in accordance with OneLegacy policies and procedures and regulatory requirements by performing the initial complete review, obtaining corrections from OneLegacy Recovery staff, obtaining required documentation from agencies such as hospitals, ME/Coroner’s offices, processors, laboratories, or other relevant government entities, and confirming that the donor case file is correct, accurate, and complete. The DIC will collaborate with other departments to communicate culture results to transplant centers. The DIC will enter case information into databases as assigned, which may include Organ Procurement Transplantation Network (OPTN). The DIC is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of donor information in donor databases. The DIC will work with the Supervisor of Donor Information to meet pre-determined chart completion goals. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. em>Qualifications: : Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of Surgical Technologist, EMT program, or LVN program with state certification required. Responsibilities of the Family Care Specialist include: Service as a subject matter expert to potential donor families on the process of organ donation and recovery; Providing support to grieving families, while advocating for the potential donor; Securing authorization for organ donation and completing patient history; Referring donor families to appropriate internal and external resources, and; collaborating with OneLegacy and hospital staff to obtain an optimal outcome for donor families. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have medical/clinical background and experience in a customer service position, preferably in a healthcare setting. The DOCO must possess the ability to solve problems independently, and work with others in a congenial and collaborative manner; and bring a demonstrated ability to work with executive management on organizational strategic planning and change initiatives. Qualifications: Four year college degree is required with preferred course work in behavioral sciences, social sciences or other health related fields. Master’s degree preferred. Procurement Transplant Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Procurement Transplant Coordinator in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description: The Procurement Transplant Coordinator (PTC) is responsible for all aspects of organ procurement from the initial hospital referral through the organ recovery procedure. The clinical element of the position is to provide medical donor patient care, with an emphasis on assessment, resuscitation, physiologic management, organ placement and organ recovery of all suitable organs. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the assessed needs of the donor and the psychosocial needs of the family in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements, policies and goals of OneLegacy. The PTC will also have shared responsibility for hospital development in his/her assigned hospitals and for conducting professional and public education presentations on the subject of organ and tissue donation. PTCs are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties. Qualifications: Registered Nursing Program, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates who are not licensed RN’s will be considered for the position of PTC at the discretion of the COO and Manager of Procurement. Critical Care Patient Management (ICU, OR, ER) experience mandatory. BCLS certification required at the time of employment. Required to be ACLS certified within 12-months and CPTC certified within 24-months of employment. Position Description: The Supervisor, Materials Management (SMM),(central supply, central services, sterile processing) responsibilities include overseeing the ordering of all organ, tissue and eye (medical supplies) supplies, operations deliveries, shelving and rotating stock, keeping track of inventory levels for tissue, eye and organ needs, cleaning and sterilization (autoclave) of (surgical) instrument kits ensures upkeep of the supply areas, and oversees Quality Control. Other additional responsibilities will include the oversight and coordination of OneLegacy’s operations pool of vehicles; and facility oversight and maintenance of Central Supply and OneLegacy satellite offices. This position also oversees all staff involved in central processing; ensures that central supply operations and Policy and Procedures relating to the functions described below are compliant with all regulatory requirements. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: Four year degree required; Engineering background preferred. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in staff management required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Hospitals or Healthcare facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision preferred. Previous supervisory/management experience in a transportation environment preferred. Certified Central Supply Certification required. Donation Development Coordinator

Position Description: The Donation Development Coordinator (DDC) is responsible to represent OneLegacy in assigned hospitals and partners with all hospitals within the designated service area (DSA) to maximize the potential for organ and tissue donation. The DDC maintains the hospital's outcome data and communicates all data and missed donation opportunities for quality improvement to the appropriate hospital team member(s). The DDC partners with key administration and hospital team members to develop policies and procedures, implements strategies to increase referrals and improve performance outcomes in organ and tissue donation in assigned hospital(s). Qualifications: Our ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree or at least two (2) years previous experience in the same or similar position with an organ procurement organization is preferred. Must have experience in presenting information to upper management, physicians/nurses, public groups, boards of directors, and committees. Experience in assessing challenging organizational and personal impediments to change and development of strategies to overcome these. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data, solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; and creative and critical thinking skills, designing concepts and organizing effectively to motivate others. Position Description: The Referral and Allocation Compliance Specialist (RACS), in coordination with the Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and overseeing the OPO’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local laws, as well as professional association and industry standards. The primary responsibilities of the RACS are to promote compliance and quality improvement; perform internal and external quality audits and as the QS Department liaison works closely, with Care Center management (including allocation). Family Care management, Donation Sciences Research and Education Department and Administrative Departments. The RACS performs Quality Control reviews of electronic (computer) and paper donor records to ensure completeness and accuracy according to policies & procedures (P&Ps). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Three years’ experience in a donation organization. Minimum one-year Quality Systems experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish, preferred. Donor Allocation Coordinator

Position Description: The Donor Allocation Coordinator (DAC) is primarily responsible for the allocation of Organs and Tissues, the coordination of recovery arrangements, and the recovery of Organs and Tissues for transplant and/or research. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy Policies and Procedures, regulations as outlined by applicable governing bodies and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. The DAC will assist in the training of staff; perform all recovery related functions for Organ and Tissues such as coordination of Organ and Tissue recoveries; and review all relevant donor records to determine donor suitability for recovery. The DAC will act as the primary liaison with our transplant centers, tissue processors, research facilitates, hospital personnel, and recovery site personnel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college/university, Associates degree from a 2 yr. program (AS), completion of Surgical Technologist Certification (ST), EMT program, LVN, RN or 3 years equivalent experience required. 3 years Industry Experience is preferred.CEBT and CTBS certification, preferred. Surgical Recovery Technician

Position Description: The Surgical Recovery Technician (SRT) is responsible for the surgical recovery of donated cadaveric tissues that are used in transplantation. The recovery responsibilities include the aseptic surgical recovery of: Ocular, Musculoskeletal, Dermal, Vascular, and Cardiac Tissue. Additional responsibilities include screening at the County Corner offices, referral triage, and the coordination of organ operating room (OR) recoveries. Qualifications: Highly qualified candidates must have one of the following: Possess a Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of an EMT program, completion of a ER Technologist or Surgical Technologist program, current or previous licensure as a paramedic, previous experience in the Tissue or Organ recovery industry or experience in the allied health field. CEBT and/or CTBS certifications are preferred. Family Care Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Family Care Coordinator in our Los Angeles office. Position Description: The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is primarily responsible for obtaining donor consents from the legal next-of-kin (LNOK) in a timely and consistent manner; providing the LNOK with honest and unbiased tissue donation options; and completing the medical/social history questionnaire with the appropriate person to assist in determination of donor eligibility. The FCC is also responsible for gathering clinical information from the referral facility and additional healthcare providers as needed; and coordinating the recovery process with tissue processing agencies, recovery staff, and recovery facilities. The FCC will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: High School Diploma required. Completion of one of the requirements listed below is required: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in physical or social sciences field; OR Completion of a certification in the medical field such as LVN, RN, Surgical Technologist, EMT, Medical Billing or CNA program. Prior experience working more than six months in a telemarketing, help desk/troubleshooting, phone counseling or customer services call center environment preferred. Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm preferred.
