Donation Development Clinical Specialist

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Full Time Donation Development Clinical Specialist in our Los Angeles Office. Position Description:: The Donation Development Clinical Specialist (DDCS) is responsible to represent OneLegacy in assigned hospitals and partners with all hospitals within the designated service area (DSA) to maximize the potential for organ, eye and tissue donation. The DDCS maintains the hospital’s outcome data and communicates all data and missed donation opportunities for quality improvement to the appropriate hospital team member(s). The DDCS partners with key administration and hospital team members to develop policies and procedures, implements strategies to increase referrals and improve performance outcomes in organ, eye and tissue donation in assigned hospital(s). The DDCS utilizes their clinical skill set to provide specialized education and training to hospital staff and to monitor clinical donor and pre-donor management to maximize donor potential. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in assessing challenging organization and personal impediments to change and development of strategies to overcome these. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data, solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Two (2) years previous experience in the same or similar position with an Organ Procurement Organization is preferred. Medical background as EMT, LVN, RT, RN, or experience in organ donor management preferred. Position Description:: The Project Manager, Organ & Tissue Operations is responsible for managing and overseeing the Central Supply department and staff. Additional responsibilities include facility oversight of satellite offices, oversight of Validation process, and fleet oversight. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in staff management required. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in Hospitals or Healthcare facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision preferred. Position Description:: The Supervisor, Donor Allocation will direct and develop the Donor Allocation Coordination functions. The Supervisor, Donor Allocation will also be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures relating to the broad aspects of organ placement, and assists in developing protocols for company-wide data flow collection. As part of the management team, this individual actively fosters an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, support, and constructive feedback; he/she provides input as needed into organizational policy development. Hires staff, performs personnel disciplinary action,and performs involuntary separations per HR policies. Qualifications: Must have an undergraduate degree. Position Description:: The Director, Organ Clinical Operations (DOCO) will oversee the day to day operations and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate strategies in the areas if Organ procurement, Referral Process Coordination, and Organ Family Care. The DOCO will also oversee the budgetary and fiscal management of these departments. As a member of the OneLegacy leadership team and the Organ Operations team, DOCO will actively foster an organizational culture that is based on collaboration, support, constructive feedback and accountability. The position requires a highly organized and resourceful person with excellent written, verbal and presentation communications skills who demonstrates tact, maturity, and professionalism in all points of contact. The DOCO must possess the ability to solve problems independently, and work with others in a congenial and collaborative manner; and bring a demonstrated ability to work with executive management on organizational strategic planning and change initiatives. Qualifications: Four year college degree is required with preferred course work in behavioral sciences, social sciences or other health related fields. Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of four years of critical care experience and/or equivalency of nurse management is required. The minimum requirements for this position include but not limited to the following: prior management experience with at least three (3) years in a health related field; must have proven leadership, communication and management skills, also a proven ability to coach and mentor. Demonstrated leadership in managing a diverse group of professionals, evidence of a flexible team player; with knowledge or understanding of commitment to medical health issues and implementing social change efforts are required. Position Description:The Director of Tissue Operations (DTO) is responsible for planning, directing and oversight of Tissue Recovery, Eye Bank, Family Care Center and Donor Referral & Allocation departments. The DTO will ensure proper planning and maintaining of work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of staff and his/her depts. The DTO will drive operations to achieve Eye and Tissue Operations, call center strategic goals, and the budgetary and fiscal management of the Eye and Tissue Operations department; as well as, the management of all contracts with recovery partners, day-to-day oversight of all tissue recovery facilities throughout Southern CA. The DTO will ensure the accuracy of referral donor information in donor databases; make certain all tissue processes follow OneLegacy’s Policies and Procedures, processors requirements, and local, state, and federal regulations. The DTO will work to motivate and foster collaborative efforts among both tissue and organ procurement operations to meet OneLegacy’s overall organizational goals and objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree required; preferably in Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of four (4) years management experience required. Position Description:Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Manager, Donation Development (MDD) is responsible for the daily operations, direction, development, and evaluation of the donation development team. The manager will motivate and foster collaborative efforts with the DD team to meet OneLegacy’s goals. The Manager, Donation Development will provide support to the donation development training program, both in the field and in the classroom, when necessary. The MDD is responsible for overseeing donation development initiatives to include special projects, staff training and information systems for tracking and reporting; as well as, quality improvement, policies and procedures creation and revisions, and OneLegacy’s donation development activities. The MDD supports the COO to identify, develop, and implement effective teaching tools and other resources for the donation development team. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, education, or related field or at least (4) years previous experience in the same or similar position with an organ procurement organization is required. Previous supervisory experience preferred; Minimum of two years’ experience in donation and/or hospital development, with a record of superior performance; Demonstrated leadership ability and success in program development necessary; Must possess superior interpersonal and written communication skills. Procurement Transplant Coordinator

Position Description: The Procurement Transplant Coordinator (PTC) is responsible for all aspects of organ procurement from the initial hospital referral through the organ recovery procedure. The clinical element of the position is to provide medical donor patient care, with an emphasis on assessment, resuscitation, physiologic management, organ placement and organ recovery of all suitable organs. Assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the assessed needs of the donor and the psychosocial needs of the family in accordance with established medical practices and the requirements, policies and goals of OneLegacy. The PTC will also have shared responsibility for hospital development in his/her assigned hospitals and for conducting professional and public education presentations on the subject of organ and tissue donation. PTCs are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties. Qualifications: Registered Nursing Program, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates who are not licensed RN’s will be considered for the position of PTC at the discretion of the COO and Manager of Procurement. Critical Care Patient Management (ICU, OR, ER) experience mandatory. BCLS certification required at the time of employment. Required to be ACLS certified within 12-months and CPTC certified within 24-months of employment. Responsibilities of the Family Care Specialist include: Service as a subject matter expert to potential donor families on the process of organ donation and recovery; Providing support to grieving families, while advocating for the potential donor; Securing authorization for organ donation and completing patient history; Referring donor families to appropriate internal and external resources, and; collaborating with OneLegacy and hospital staff to obtain an optimal outcome for donor families.Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have medical/clinical background and experience in a customer service position, preferably in a healthcare setting. The EBC is responsible for maintaining all EBAA and FDA required documentation of processing and distribution activities. Medical Records Coordinator

Position Description: Under the direction of the Supervisor, Donor Information (SDI), the Medical Records Coordinator (MRC) will provide support to the donation development department by entering, filing and retrieval of any donor related data from hospital records; and handling of all communication with regard to donor records for internal and external entities. The MRC will be responsible for the collecting and processing of the Hospital Death Lists; will review data for the OneLegacy donor information reports and communicate with the donation development and donor information teams, on an ongoing basis and providing timely reporting to meet OneLegacy’s goals. The MRC will also support the Donor Information department and be responsible for the review of incoming donor charts for hospital records completeness and contacting the hospital to obtain outstanding records. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree required. Preferred coursework to include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, legal aspects of health information, coding and abstraction of data, statistics, database management, quality improvement methods, and computer science. A minimum of 2 years of previous medical records experience and/or medical or health science background preferred. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Position Description: The Referral and Allocation Compliance Specialist (RACS), in coordination with the Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and overseeing the OPO’s compliance with all regulatory requirements, including federal, state, and local laws, as well as professional association and industry standards. The primary responsibilities of the RACS are to promote compliance and quality improvement; perform internal and external quality audits and as the QS Department liaison works closely, with Care Center management (including allocation). Family Care management, Donation Sciences Research and Education Department and Administrative Departments. The RACS performs Quality Control reviews of electronic (computer) and paper donor records to ensure completeness and accuracy according to policies & procedures (P&Ps). Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university required. Position Description: The Donor Allocation Coordinator (DAC) is primarily responsible for the allocation of Organs and Tissues, the coordination of recovery arrangements, and the recovery of Organs and Tissues for transplant and/or research. Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy Policies and Procedures, regulations as outlined by applicable governing bodies and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. The DAC will assist in the training of staff; perform all recovery related functions for Organ and Tissues such as coordination of Organ and Tissue recoveries; and review all relevant donor records to determine donor suitability for recovery. The DAC will act as the primary liaison with our transplant centers, tissue processors, research facilitates, hospital personnel, and recovery site personnel. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college/university, Associates degree from a 2 yr. program (AS), completion of Surgical Technologist Certification (ST), EMT program, LVN, RN or 3 years equivalent experience required. 3 years Industry Experience is preferred.CEBT and CTBS certification, preferred. Surgical Recovery Technician

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a Per Diem Surgical Recovery Technician in our Redlands, Orange County and Los Angeles Offices. Position Description: The Surgical Recovery Technician (SRT) is responsible for the surgical recovery of donated cadaveric tissues that are used in transplantation. The recovery responsibilities include the aseptic surgical recovery of: Ocular, Musculoskeletal, Dermal, Vascular, and Cardiac Tissue. Additional responsibilities include screening at the County Corner offices, referral triage, and the coordination of organ operating room (OR) recoveries. Qualifications: Highly qualified candidates must have one of the following: Possess a Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of an EMT program, completion of a ER Technologist or Surgical Technologist program, current or previous licensure as a paramedic, previous experience in the Tissue or Organ recovery industry or experience in the allied health field. CEBT and/or CTBS certifications are preferred. Family Care Coordinator

OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Family Care Coordinator in our Los Angeles office. Position Description: The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is primarily responsible for obtaining donor consents from the legal next-of-kin (LNOK) in a timely and consistent manner; providing the LNOK with honest and unbiased tissue donation options; and completing the medical/social history questionnaire with the appropriate person to assist in determination of donor eligibility. The FCC is also responsible for gathering clinical information from the referral facility and additional healthcare providers as needed; and coordinating the recovery process with tissue processing agencies, recovery staff, and recovery facilities. The FCC will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent with certification from allied healthcare, technical or vocational program. Completion of one of the requirements: • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in physical or social sciences field. • Completion of an LVN, RN, Surgical Technologist, EMT, or CNA program. • Prior experience working more than six months in a telemarketing, help desk/troubleshooting, phone counseling or customer services call center environment preferred.
