Donor Recovery Cordinator
OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Donor Recovery Coordinator in our LA Wilshire office. Position Description: The Donor Recovery Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination of recovery arrangements, the recovery of human tissues for transplant, research and medical education in their assigned service area and performing the functions of a certified trainer. When necessary, the Donor Recovery Coordinator provides recovery coordination in the OneLegacy service areas outside of their assigned service area, as requested by the Supervisor or Manager. The Donor Recovery Coordinator will train staff, and perform all recovery related functions such as reviewing OneLegacy recovery documents, conducting medical record reviews, perform donor physical exam, aseptic surgical removal of tissue and communicates when necessary with multiple processing agencies. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of Surgical Technologist or EMT program, and/or training in an affiliated health or mortuary sciences field. A minimum of two years recovery experience in tissue banking. CEBT and CTBS certification preferred. Family Care Coordinator
OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Family Care Coordinator in our LA Wilshire office. Position Description: The Family Care Coordinator (FCC) is primarily responsible for obtaining donor consents from the legal next-of-kin (LNOK) in a timely and consistent manner; providing the LNOK with honest and unbiased tissue donation options; and completing the medical/social history questionnaire with the appropriate person to assist in determination of donor eligibility. The FCC is also responsible for gathering clinical information from the referral facility and additional healthcare providers as needed; and coordinating the recovery process with tissue processing agencies, recovery staff, and recovery facilities. The FCC will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with OneLegacy policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Qualifications: Qualified candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent with certification from an allied healthcare, technical, or vocational program and must have completed two of the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in physical or social sciences field; completion of a LVN, RN, Surgical Technologist, or EMT program; at least six (6) months experience in an organ and tissue call center setting; or pass a typing test of a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Training Specialist
OneLegacy, the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the seven-county greater Los Angeles area, has an immediate career opportunity for a full time Information Systems Coordinator in our LA corporate office. Position Description: The Training Specialist (TS) is responsible for assisting with the education and training of OneLegacy staff, training documentation and staff training files. The TS will work collaboratively with all department managers and preceptors to ensure education and training needs have been met, training is taking place in accordance with AD01.21 OneLegacy Training and Documentation and ensures the completion of training documentation. The TS will assist the Manager of Training (MT) with training, documentation, and maintenance of training files, and ensures that the process is performed in accordance with AD01.21 OneLegacy Training and Documentation. The TS will assist with the New Hire Training Program; the staff meetings, and all the general requirements during the New Hire Training Program. The TS will assist the MT to maintain the structure of the training program, and ensure all staffs are properly trained. The TS is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and maintenance of educational classes and the educational calendar and will communicate with management and staff regarding classes that will be offered with OneLegacy. The TS will assist with offering continuing education units and helping staff keep up their credits. The TS will assist with the development and implementation of the Preceptor Program and will work with the department managers collaboratively to assist with training and education for the preceptor. The TS will support the MT in setting the expectations of the preceptors and work with management to ensure that the expectations are met. The TS will assist the MT in working with management and preceptors to maintain structured training schedules and to identify areas in need of training, and will enforce the schedule with all departments and staff. The TS will need to write and revise Policies and Procedures as assigned by the MT and assist in the peer review. Qualifications: Highly qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of Surgical Technologist or EMT program, and/or training in an affiliated health or mortuary sciences field. A minimum of three (3) years recovery experience in the organ/tissue banking and/or critical care nursing experience is preferred. Registered Nurse credential and previous experience as a clinical trainer is preferred. CEBT certification is preferred. CTBS certification is required. Certification of Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) and CEBT required within six (6) months of employment date.
