DMV/Donate Life California Month
Each April, National Donate Life Month is observed statewide as DMV/Donate Life California Month. Events and activities in our diverse communities focus attention on the Donate Life California Organ & Tissue Donor Registry and the DMV's essential role as the registry's primary enrollment channel.
The month's activities engage cities, counties, hospitals and the Donate Life community:
- Donate Life Ambassadors to Cities take the lead in proposing DMV/Donate Life California Month resolutions by more than 100 city councils and county supervisors
- Hospitals and cities raise Donate Life flags in honor of organ and tissue donors, joining thousands of flags that fly nationwide as part of Donate Life Flags Across America
- Donate Life California organizes a Day at the State Capitol to discuss legislative priorities with elected leaders
- More than 7,000 donor family members, recipients, allied professionals and others attend the Donate Life Run/Walk at Cal State Fullerton in early May to cap the monthlong celebration
