Tissue Recovery Process
Tissue donation must be initiated within 24 hours of death. Tissues that can be transplanted include bones, heart valves, blood vessels, skin, corneas and tendons.
In OneLegacy's donation service area, tissues are recovered by our recovery technical specialists. The body is treated with utmost respect, and after tissues are recovered the body is carfully reconstructed so that the family can have an open-casket funeral if desired.
